Cycling Australia Diaries
| Friday 19th September 2003 | 47km (4379km) | Day 65 of 77 |
We had been anticipating the Bloomfield track for months. People had been telling us how difficult it was in a car and that it would be impossible on bicycle as the roads are so steep. The humidity was intense today so we were glad to cycle through several creek crossings. To our dismay, the hills were incredibly steep and we never knew whether to laugh or cry at every bend which seemed to reveal an enless, tortuous climb. There weren't any places to fit a tent in the dense rainforest, so we cycled for hours after dark through sandy tracks and found a nice place right on the beach.
